Our Mission is to preserve and protect life and property in and around the City of North Wildwood, NJ and the surrounding communities before, during, and after any fire or emergency that may occur.

 

Situated on the barrier island of North Wildwood, NJ, The Anglesea Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 has been serving the city since 1897. It is a 24-active member company and is part of the North Wildwood Fire Department Career Division.

 

The AVFC #1 responds to various types of emergencies including residential fire alarms, commercial fire alarms, and landing zone assignments. We also respond to marine search & rescues, marina and boat fires, and any other type of marine emergencies in the surrounding bay and ocean. We operate out of one station with:

- 1 Battalion Chief Car 203
- 1 Engine 232
- 1 Ladder 250
- 1 Marine Unit Marine 2-2
- 2 Utility Trucks 270 & 297

 

We recently acquired 2 retired military vehicles which will be converted for firefighting capabilities and rescue in flood prone areas.

 

The AVFC #1 also provides mutual aid to our neighboring towns of Wildwood City to the south and Stone Harbor to the north.

 

As a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirement, all active members are certified in Firefighter 1 and CPR while some members continue to study advanced training.

 

Our monthly meeting is held on the first Thursday of each month beginning at 7:30pm. And our drill schedule is every second, third, and fourth Thursday of each month beginning at 7:30pm.

 

Anyone interested in joining or learning about the company are welcome to the station on any drill night!
